We don’t need intensity, we need clarity

This post first appeared in Blue Sky Partners’ monthly newsletter - forecast - which I highly recommend subscribing to. It’s one of the best monthly newsletters out there about the Austin business and social scene.

Well, we're one month into 2020. How are you doing on your goals?

For real—are you on track?

If you're like me and most people I know you've probably already strayed from the path of personal growth that seemed so clear just 30-ish days ago.

And, if you're like me and most people I know, you've probably beat yourself up a little and have a running list of all the things you still need to DO differently.

Maybe you think...

If I can just do enough things the right way with a lot of intensity I'll improve my relationships, reach my potential, and be really successful in my career in 2020...

...how exhausting.

We're so obsessed with getting things right and approaching our goals with intensity, yet most of us arrive at the end of Q1 having made no real progress and totally down on ourselves.

But what if your growth wasn't about doing more things with more intensity?

What if it was about finding clarity and digging deep into who you are—who you've always been?

When we can separate who we are from what we do, we become free to make some really meaningful contributions because our old fears of, (1) whether or not we're doing a good job, and, (2) whether or not people like us, lose their power.

If this work sounds important to you and you’re near Austin, Texas I’d like to invite you to SHIFT, a full-day conference I'm hosting tomorrow to help folks like us find more clarity.

We're going to spend five hours on Tuesday, February 11th at Impact Hub Austin - Bouldin Creek, equipping you with tools to tap into the wisdom, direction and clarity you've had all along.
